“This timeless tale of a hapless prince on a dragon hunt is a delight for young readers and the young-at-heart. Beautifully told with quiet wit and delicate watercolour illustrations, Barbara Glass’s story is a must for dragon lovers everywhere.”
“With their cast of colourful characters and Barbara’s amusing illustrations, these books provide a thoroughly enjoyable read.”
“My 11 year old son and I love Barbara Glass’ dragon tales. We laugh out loud at the hilarious antics of her unlikely hero and his even unlikelier friends. The illustrations are beautiful and really bring the story to life. There is an original card game included also which meant the fun could continue after we’d finished reading!”
“Our son was given ‘The Prince and the Dragon’ for his fourth birthday and he fell in love with the story and the characters. The book has the best of medieval bravery with a twist. The timid dragon, the noble yet hapless prince, not to mention his mighty ‘steed’, really drew our son in and are such delightful characters.
The beautiful pictures really brought the story to life for him and we also have one of the gorgeous wall scrolls which reminds us of all the loveable friends of Prince Luck Less and Fear Full.
When we saw Barbara selling the next book in the series we certainly had to purchase a copy and found it to be even more exciting than the first book!
We have purchased her books as birthday gifts for our friends’ children and they have all found it as magical as we have. We are now waiting with anticipation the third and final edition to know what happens to Prince Luck Less and the fantastic Fear Full.”
“I throughly enjoyed the first two books written by Barbara Glass ‘The Prince and the Dragon’ and ‘The Journey to Dragonsneer’. I’m so looking forward to the third book now.
I found myself pondering over the possible meaning of the story so far. I came to my own realisation that it’s about the overcoming of prejudice between two unlikely allies, a dragon and a human.
They share the same problem of their supply of water, which is a life giving and precious commodity.
I love the acceptance of each others’ title and role in society that was created by misfortune. Their lack of water resources created an upside-down society, a bit depressed but ironically they still managed to function in an unconventional way.
I find these books as thought provoking and deeply profound. The story drew me into a closer understanding of life in society and relationships with outsiders. The lighthearted humorous approach is non-political and down to earth.
The two main characters are misfits but ironically great problem solution solvers.
A young reluctant prince becomes a hero after meeting a sad lonely dragon. Together they repair the damage of societies problem’s.
I believe the story is so valid for today when the world faces economic collapse. We all need to share our resources to survive.”
